About The Product
Save Now with the Roppe Heavy Duty Smooth Stair Tread Brown 72 Inch, designed to provide long-lasting slip resistance in high-traffic environments. When you need stair protection that doesn't flinch under pressure, this heavy-duty rubber tread stands out for its straightforward reliability and no-nonsense construction. The deep brown color does a solid job of hiding scuffs and marks, while the smooth finish gives stairs a clean, professional look that fits right into commercial, institutional, and industrial spaces.
This particular model measures a full 72 inches in length and 12.31 inches in width, which covers standard and extra-wide steps with room to spare. Material-wise, it's all rubber - not the lightweight kind, either. You can feel the density when you pick it up, and it's built to handle the kind of daily traffic that would wear out lesser treads. The edge profile comes in both square and round options, so you can match the right style to your project or code requirements. If you've ever run into treads that peel up at corners or don't sit flush, you'll appreciate the solid, stable fit these provide with proper adhesive.
Installation is a straightforward process as long as you're working with a clean and level surface. While adhesives aren't included, the tread's flexibility means it contours easily over concrete or wood subfloors. And once installed, you're covered by a 10-year warranty from Roppe - not that you'll likely need it, given their track record with commercial flooring products. Maintenance is minimal: sweep, mop, and rinse as needed. The smooth finish wipes clean, even with heavy soil or debris.
Every tread is made in the USA, which means quality control and quick shipping for projects on a deadline. You're not guessing whether you'll get something that meets US standards - these ship directly from Roppe's domestic facilities. For facilities managers or building pros tired of replacing subpar treads every few years, the long-term cost saving is obvious. In terms of performance, these treads are intended for spaces where safety and wear resistance come first - think office buildings, schools, and hospitals. They're engineered to reduce slipping hazards while still looking crisp after months of heavy foot traffic. If you need a stair tread that looks professional out of the box and keeps that look through the years, the Roppe Heavy Duty Smooth series is the sort of straightforward solution commercial buyers keep coming back to.
