About The Product
Best Savings Tarkett Johnsonite Puget Sound Color Splash Stair Tread Gray Raised Square 48 inch is built to provide reliability and slip-resistance for stair applications. For facilities that see daily traffic, the Color Splash tread delivers a straightforward solution focused on safety and long-term value. Measuring 48 inches long and 12.25 inches wide, this stair tread uses a square profile with a raised square surface pattern designed to help users maintain solid footing even during busy hours. The gray color settles comfortably into most interiors, delivering a clean, neutral appearance that keeps maintenance simple-surface dust and scuffs don't stand out as much, which is practical if you're thinking about long-term appearances.
Made from durable rubber, these treads are built to withstand repeated use, buffering both impact and sound throughout the day. That makes them an effective choice for educational buildings, healthcare centers, or any public setting that needs stairs to stay safe and quiet while meeting key safety standards. The surface pattern of raised squares helps distribute wear evenly, slowing down how quickly the stair tread surface shows signs of usage over time. This tread includes a five-year warranty from Tarkett, and its origin in the United States means sourcing requirements for domestic content are easily met.
Installation is straightforward for those familiar with rubber stair treads. The flexible material fits securely over step edges and holds well with a reliable adhesive, which allows for efficient installations across long runs of stairs. For specialty needs, supplementary products like stair nosing or transition strips can be added-useful in projects that call for extra detail or compliance in high-visibility public spaces. Whether working in a school, medical campus, or commercial setting, this stair tread provides a practical solution that can handle a variety of foot traffic patterns.
The raised square finish has a subtle texture that helps maintain slip resistance, even after consistent use. The Puget Sound gray color, one of Tarkett's signature options, gives the stair edge a subtle visual outline that's easier to spot in lower lighting conditions or emergency situations.
