About The Product
Most Popular. Tarkett Johnsonite Snowcap Color Splash Stair Tread Hammered 60 inch is aimed squarely at spaces demanding both resilience and a clean, modern look. This stair tread arrives in a crisp white finish that maintains its appearance in the face of daily use-nothing fussy here, just straightforward, high-quality rubber that's easy to keep in shape. If you need a reliable, commercial-grade solution to keep your stairs safer and more visually cohesive, it's hard to do better in this price range, especially given that it's made in the United States.
What stands out immediately is the actual profile: you'll notice a sharp, square edge that lines up well against risers, keeping the final installation tight and professional. Each tread measures 60 inches in length and 12.25 inches wide, striking that sweet spot for most commercial stair runs; not oversized, but fully ready for heavier traffic. The material is solid rubber, not a mix-so you get excellent durability and long wear, plus extra slip resistance thanks to the hammered surface texture. It's the kind of finish that hides scuffs a lot better than smooth alternatives, and cleans up surprisingly fast after a workday's worth of foot traffic.
This is the Snowcap variant in the Color Splash line, which means you're getting the brightest white in their range-useful if you want a clear visual distinction or are trying to keep a space feeling light. There's a five-year warranty on these, but the real appeal is how they just settle in and do their job without drawing attention the wrong way. Johnsonite manufactures these in the USA, so turnaround on orders and consistency in finish are strong suits, especially if you need to match several flights in one go.
If you're configuring multiple stairs and aiming for uniform coverage, remember that adhesives and nosings are sold separately to suit your installation preferences and compliance needs. This tread's square edge profile means it pairs easily with standard adhesives, and you can finish it out with or without additional nosing depending on code and slip resistance requirements. It's the kind of detail you won't think about much after install, which is usually a sign you've chosen the right tread for the job.
